Philip proudly served in the U.S. Navy Reserves for eight years. He was married to his best friend and the love of his life, Norma June Burton, for 68 wonderful years. Philip was a loving husband, an amazing father, and a dedicated grandfather. He was a licensed real estate broker who enjoyed helping others find their first home. In 1984, he served as president of the Hemet San Jacinto Realty Board. Philip was a Master Mason of Hemet San Jacinto Lodge No. 338, a member of Shriners International, and a member of the Scottish Rite. In his free time, he enjoyed restoring old cars, walking in the orange groves, and cheering for his favorite baseball teams, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres. He also enjoyed barbecuing a turkey for holiday meals. His love for his family was immeasurable.
Philip is survived by his loving wife, Norma June Burton; his son, Anthony (Alicia) Burton; his daughter, Francine (Chip) Bangert; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Liberty Burton.
A committal service will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 1:30 PM, at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, CA 92518
