Pedro Arriola Perez, Jr. was born on May 8, 1945 in Agana, Guam, to Pedro Arriola Perez and Rosita Camacho Perez. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1963 and served as a paratrooper and sergeant until 1966. He married the love of his life, Ann, in 1968, and went on to welcome 4 children into the world. In 1968, he was accepted to the apprenticeship program at the Long Beach Naval Shipyard. He then became a master rigger and continued with his career for 28 years. In 1996, Pedro fulfilled his dream of returning to his home island of Guam along with all three of his children and grandchildren. In 2001, he and his family returned to Southern California. It is there that he spent his remaining years surrounded by his loving family, relatives, and close friends.
Pedro died peacefully in the presence of his loving wife while at his home on January 14, 2021, in Sun City, California at the age of 75.
Pedro is survived by his wife, Ann San Nicolas Cabrera; siblings, Lilian P. Paulino, Alanjames C. Perez, and Melissa P. Peoples; children, Michael Peter Perez, Clarissa Niccole Perez, and Claudine Alana Perez; grandchildren, Angel R. Perez, Inyssa K. Perez, Christian R. Perez, Christopher R. Perez, Kiana A. Perez, Jenae L. Perez, Mihaela J. Perez, Laila R. Perez, and Isaiah A. Castro. Pedro is preceded in death by his parents, Pedro Arriola Perez, Sr. and Rosita Camacho Perez; daughter, Melissa Ann Perez; and brothers, Eduard Perez, Victor Perez, and Rudy Lujan.
Pedro’s friends and family will never forget his loyalty, sense of humor, and love of golf. His children will always remember him as a generous, loving father who valued his Chamorro roots and family above all else. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and his memory will never be forgotten.
