Paul Mares

Paul Mares, age 94, of Moreno Valley, CA, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013, in Moreno Valley, CA. He was born on Friday, February 28, 1919 in Riverside, CA to the late Jose Mares and the late Helen (Uribe) Mares. He was married to the late Betty M. Mares for 34 years. Paul served his country honorably during WWII as a decorated soldier in the Army receiving the Combat Infantryman Badge, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal and the recipient of the Purple Heart. He enjoyed spending time in his garden, always planting his favorite vegetables. He was a hard worker; always providing for his family. His greatest joy of all was spending quality time with his family. He will forever be loved, and greatly missed.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children: Gary R. Mares (Judith), Candace R. Gingery (David) and Kelly Leberknight ;grandchildren: Pamela, Paula, Michelle, Dawn, Diane, Jackson, Gary Jr., Eden, Brandon, Lena, Amy, Meghan, Zac, and Ryan; great-grandchildren: Christophe, Daniel, Lucas, Emily, Isabel, Alyson, Dylan, Madison, Kevin, Kristin, Carson, Summer, Tyler, Hayden, McLane, Jackson Gray, Hannah, Gary III, Ava, James, Allie, Caitlin, Bryce, Eli, Natalie, Brooke, Maggie, Cole, Quinn, and Paige; great-great-grandchild Audrey; daughter-in-law, Charlene (Daniel) and a host of other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and sons Paul N. Mares and Daniel J. Mares.
