Patricia Louise Robinson (Kirby) was born on January 14, 1924 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was 88 years old when she passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at Orange Tree Convalescent Hospital in Riverside, California. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ralph Garwood Kirby, who passed away in 1986.
She was active throughout her life as a past President of WSEAC (Washington State Elks Association) and was an active member of the Red Hat Society in Hemet, California, and in Washington as well. She gathered friends around her like “moths to a flame” and was always the life of the party. She always enjoyed doing new and exciting things; there was nothing that she wouldn’t try, especially if she had a personal dare. The one thing that she wanted for her 80th birthday was to go to Hawaii and go parasailing and parasailing she did! She loved to play cards, laugh and sing, work puzzles and go fishing. Her life exemplified a person who loved life, working hard and enjoying her grandchildren.
Mrs. Kirby is survived by eight grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, one great, great grandchild, and four children; Joanne Loomis of Issaquah, Washington, Linda Kirby of Glendora, California, Pamela Kirby of Mira Loma, California, and Stephen Kirby of Poway, California. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends who will always remember her for her love of life.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, January 18, 2013, with a funeral following at 11:30 a.m. at the McWane Family Funeral Home located at 350 North San Jacinto Street, Hemet, California. Internment will be in the Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA, alongside her husband, Ralph Kirby.
Entrusted to the care of McWane Family Funeral Home.
