

Nathan Eugene Baker, 87 of Hemet, California passed on Saturday, February 4, 2012, at home surrounded by family and friends. He was born Tuesday, October 7, 1924, and was the son of the late Samuel Baker and the late Lela Pratt Baker. Nathan was the husband of Betty Baker. He was a quite an loving man and when he spoke he was to the point. As a young man he enjoyed archery and hunting. Later in life he was a big boxing fan during the Muhammad Ali and Joe Frasier period. Nathan also enjoyed NASCAR. As a family he enjoyed hiking in our National Parks and also in other mountain ranges just about the middle of nowhere. The family owned a station wagon but the joke was it should have been a Jeep for all the times they were stuck someplace. He served as a Sgt in the Army from 1943 until 1945. He was a Veteran of World War II.
Surviving are sons, Mark Eugene Baker and Leif Edward Baker, daughter, Kipp Thompson of Hemet, CA; 8 grand children; 6 great grand children.
A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday at Riverside National Cemetery located at 22495 Van Buren Boulevard Riverside, California 92518. Interment will be in Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA.
