Michael Vincent DeYoung

Michael De Young came into the world on December 4, 1988. He was born in Riverside, Ca. Michael was named after his father Jeff's friend Michael Anthony Tristano who passed away in high school. Michael Tristano was always up for a good time, fearless and always in trouble. As Michael De Young's personality developed Jeff began to realize how much he was like his old friend in every way. Michael was extremely mischievous and also loved to push the rules to their absolute limits. He did many things growing up. Some of his favorite things as a kid consisted of motor cycles, bmx bikes and camping. Michael attended school in Hemet and graduated from Hemet High School in 2007. While in high school Michael was a part of FFA and also played baseball. Michael made the decision in High school that college was not in his stars, however the military was. It was no doubt to him that his choice of branch would be the Marines. He knew they were the best of the best and that is what he wanted to be. He went on to become an airframe mechanic for F18 fighter jets and became a Sargent before retiring in 2013. Michael's hobbies changed with time as he grew up. In his later years he came to love shooting, hunting, and mountain biking. If it was outdoors Michael was all for it. He had a love for the river like no other. It was his favorite place to be. In 2012 we were presented with the news that Michael had been diagnosed with cancer. He approached that challenge like he did everything else, head on and fearless. Michael had to endure an extremely long fight that many cannot withstand. It takes a special person to go through countless hardships and roadblocks and still have the ability to fight on. Michael was a special person, he was that person that fought every day and never gave up. As his fight was coming to an end he did not get discouraged, he fought until the very last second with perseverance and all of his strength. On January 6, 2016 God gained another Marine to guard his gates.

Survived by Mother Cindy De Young, Father Jeff De Young, Brother Cody De Young, Sister in Law Lacy De Young, Sister Meghan De Young-Desanti, and Brother in law Troy Desanti and niece Mckenzie Desanti.
