Mary Virginia Hamner

My sweet Mama, Mary Virginia Shoonover Hamner, went running down the halls of Heaven to her Jesus in the early hours of the morning. Oh to imagine the look of joy on her face when she saw Jesus! Her passing was peaceful while she slept.

Mary was a woman who loved her family, but especially her late husband James Hamner and her Jesus. Born and raised in New Mexico, she and her family moved to California in her teen years, where she later met her James. They were married for 67 wonderful years before He went to be with Jesus and she is seeing him once again after 5 years apart. Strolling down those streets of gold hand in hand.

Together she and James have 3 children, Janette (Dan) Young, Vicki (Gene) Hogg, and Curtis (Rhonda) Hamner; a surrogate son Vaughn (Elsa) Barnes; with many others adopted in heart. Blessing them with 6 grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren. A legacy to be sure. Mary was preceded in death by her precious granddaughter, Dannett.

Mary loved her Jesus and served Him till the moment she went to be with Him. She will be missed dearly. But we are rejoicing with her knowing we will see her again one day when we join her on those streets of gold.
