Mary Lee French was born November 3, 1941 in Blacksher, Alabama to the late Issac French and the late Lula Harris. She was the fifth child of sixteen children born of this union. Mary spent much of her youth in Little River, Alabama where she attended public schools. Mary graduated from Douglasville High School in 1961. Mary moved to California for better opportunities. Finally settling in, she met Thomas Hannon, fell in love and was married in 1983. From this union they had two wonderful boys, Gregory French Hannon and the late Bryant Hannon Sr.
Mary French was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, foster parent and dear friend. Reliable, ride or die and always loving good times.
She is survived by her beloved son, Gregory French Hannon, 3 grandchildren, Bryant Hannon Jr., Brittany and Brinay Hannon, 3 brothers, Isreal, Alfred and Cleophus; 4 sisters, Florence, Rosa, Shermanita and Shirley; Aunt Nellie Thomas; brother in laws, Bobbie Hannon, Wendell Tucker Sr. and Theophlus Compton; sister in laws, Mary D French, Marlene French, Dorothy Compton and Eliza French; God-daughter, Joann Freeman; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She is also survived by a devoted friend, Henry Young.
