Lydia Blanca Zamora, a lifelong resident of Hemet, CA, passed away pain-free and peacefully with her family by her side on March 26, 2025, at the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. She was diagnosed in 2007 with the debilitating disease of Scleroderma, which eventually led to her passing.
Lydia is survived by her three children, Anthony Zamora, Monique Zamora, and Martin Zamora; her three grandchildren, Emmanuel Zavala, Ruth Zamora, and Philip Zamora; and her Siblings, Tony Gomez, Lisa Martinez-Coniglio, Rosemary Gomez, and John Gomez. She is preceded by her parents, Pablo Celso Gomez and Blanca Julia Gomez; her brother, Paul Celso Gomez; and her nephew, Joseph Edward Mills.
Lydia was born to Pablo and Blanca Gomez in Los Angeles on October 30th, 1960. She lived in LA for a few years before her family moved to Hemet for new opportunities and a non-city lifestyle. She was the 2nd of 6 children and the eldest daughter. She attended elementary, middle, and high school in Hemet. After high school, she continued her studies. She obtained her cosmetology degree and a business license, which led to her being a long-time Salon owner and hairstylist for many clients and friends in the valley. She later moved on and began her 13-year career with Valley-Wide Recreation Center, where she served as a Trip Coordinator before her early retirement in 2012 due to her illness.
Lydia was a devoted mother and an eternal optimist. She enjoyed living life to the fullest and liked to travel, exercise (Jazzercise and swimming), play Bingo, and crochet while watching movies and TV shows. She also liked to be close to the ocean and celebrate all kinds of things (especially birthdays, holidays, and achievements). However, nothing can compare to her love of food. She was a true connoisseur of both sweet and savory delights.
Lydia was a social butterfly who brought joy to many people's lives. Her kind and caring nature made her unique and special. She was always so generous and offered support to all in need. She will be remembered as an inspirational, resilient, and admirable woman who overcame many obstacles. She was a valid symbol of hope, strength, and independence.
Thank you to all of the doctors, nurses, family, and friends who helped her during her 18-year battle with Scleroderma.
A special thank you to her son Martin Zamora for dedicating the past five years of his life to attending to her countless medical and personal needs.
