Lloyd Louis Barber, Jr., 89, of Hemet, California, crossed the bridge on Sunday, April 21, 2019. He was at peace with his loving sons and family at his bedside. Born the son of a big band musician in Chicago, Illinois and Ruth Holst.
He migrated to SoCal, graduating from Hemet Union High School (1948). He joined the USAF and served honorably as a fighter jet mechanic, including a tour in the Korean Theater. After his service, he returned to SoCal, married, and went to college at night while working full-time and starting a family with three children- Chris, Tracie, and John.
Children raised, divorce, and retirement came, but the real joy was when God blessed him when Gwen Jensen came into his life. He pursued his lifelong hobby of building and flying model airplanes and gardening with his true passion--Gwen.
He is survived by Gwen, his two sons, three grandchildren, and a great-grandchild, as well as a host of very good friends.
