Linda Andrea Miller

Linda was a remarkable woman who always held her head high and gave endlessly to those around her. Today is our opportunity to celebrate her life. Born in Evanston, Illinois in 1955, Linda was a second generation American of Swedish immigrants. Linda’s father Erhard Albert Carson served in World War II and was a well-known Pop-Warner and Semi-Pro Football Coach in Chicago. Her mother Marjorie,

was an amazing homemaker, an avid reader, and a leader of local community groups. Linda’s mother’s family history here in America goes back to the early 1600s. Linda is a direct descendant of Robert Morris of Pennsylvania, one of the signers of The United States Constitution and The Declaration of Independence. Her great grandfather was the founding

father of Swansea, Massachusetts. Her great cousin was a drummer in the civil war, setting the beat and pace for Union Troops as they went into battle. Her love for the arts and theater brought her to the place of performing on the local stages of Chicago Play Houses. In the late 70s, Linda was offered the opportunity to play a character role with a travelling national theater group in their new up and coming play, Grease.

Linda had many interests and gifts; singing, dancing, acting, writing, teaching, and leading are a few amongst those to name. Her work career spanned the corporate world, the school classroom as an elementary school teacher and a daycare director. Linda had dreams of being a published author; having penned several short stories. In addition, her grammar skills were amazing. Improper English and grammar would always stand out to her and she would often catch needed corrections, even in newspaper articles.

She would have been a wonderful editor. Her greatest love, however, was being a mom and grandma. Linda’s 42 year Labor of Love as a mother started with her first son Matthew in 1976,

followed by her daughter Noell, and her third child, Heather.

A few years later, Linda met Scott Miller while Scott was on military leave, and the two started a long distance relationship. This relationship developed and lead them to marriage on May 5 th of 1987. This was also Scott’s birthday, and he planned it this way so he would never forget his wedding anniversary. The family grew larger with two more children, their daughter Temree and their son, Caleb. This journey lasted for 31 years of marriage. Linda was honored to be the grandma of 6 grandchildren: Abishay, Monroe, Isaac, Zoe, Trinity, and Shiloh. This union’s legacy of 5 children and 6 grandchildren, is one that has and will continue to stand the test of time.

Linda Carson Miller lived life well, she lived with her heart, being caring and loving to everyone. Willing to stop what she was doing and listen with her whole heart, being in the moment with you without being distracted. She would provide you with encouragement and had the ability to see positive side in every situation. A life well lived indeed…. Linda Carson Miller… 62 years of Wonderful Work on Earth…
