Ian was born April 18, 1956 in Granada Hills, California, He was the husband of Deborah Reed Bennish.
Ian was a patriot and proud of his service in the military. He served as a Sargent in the Army from 1985 until 1990. During his time in the Army he received the Army Service Ribbon, Army Lapel Button, Army Achievement Medal (First Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Good Conduct Medal (Second Award), Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (2), Army Commendation Medal, and Expert Badge with Rifle Component Bar. He was exceedingly proud of his time in service as an artilleryman, and his son after him. He was very proud of his son's service in the Army too.
Ian was an active and kind hearted man that would give you the shirt off his back. He was direct, honest and a true friend. He was rugged and active, an avid horseman and enjoyed woodwork and making lawn art for his wife with different items he found. Family and church were very important to him. Ian spent the last 10 years helping build the church building itself. He always strived to be better; a better man, husband, and father.
Surviving are his wife Debbie, and son, Lon Bennish.
