Gary Lucien Gunn was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on April 8, 1963 to Mr. Gary Gunn and Mrs. Catherine Sainsbury Gunn. The Gunn family relocated to San Diego while Gary was still a young an audacious young boy. Gary and his brother brought life to their new environment by raising hell. Gary never lost his adventurous spirit; he grew up to become a courageous, loyal, honorable and caring man. Gary was proud and honored to be a fireman at MacDonald Douglas in Long Beach, California he was also proud to be a member of the International Radio Racing Crew, an organization very dear to his heart; a non profit volunteer organization that provides emergency services and communication for off road racing events and public OHV parks. Gary would always look forward to spending time with his fireman and paramedic friends while volunteering to be 1st responders at off road sites. Gary's big heart was won over by the love of his life Cathy Gunn. Gary and Cathy married and were blessed with three wonderful children; John McLean, Dylan Tommy Gunn and Arianne Adel Gunn.
Gary's determination and work ethic was always at the forefront; he went on to work for a construction company where he moved up to the top of the company within two years.
Gary passed away on September 1, 2014. He leaves behind his wife Cathy, his three children and one granddaughter, and many more family and friends. The memories of a legend of a man, one with a hopeful view on life, always laughing and making others enjoy the brighter things in life will be greatly missed and all that were fortunate enough to know him will always yearn for the memories that were yet to be created. Family and friends of Gary will always remember to be thankful for the many beautiful memories they were all blessed and privileged to share with him.
