included a sister and two brothers, came to California when he was two years old and eventually settled in San Bernardino. He is survived by his son Mario (Linda) Gonzalez, daughters Terry Dulay, Christy Nevarez, Diane (Kris) Waggoner, brother Daniel (Neni) Gonzales, nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and three great-greatgrandchildren. Lolo was preceded in death by his wife Carmen only 26 days prior, after 73 years of marriage. He was also predeceased by his son Steven Gonzalez, grandson Joey Nevarez, great-grandson Lazarus Ortega, son-in-law Lou Dulay, sisters Maria de Jesus (Jessie) Gonzalez-Baron and Aurora (Bola) Gonzalez Ruvalcaba, and brothers Salvador (Salva), Luis (Louie), Benjamin (Ben), Frank (Franco), and Arnulfo (Nupi) Gonzales. Lolo was also preceded in
death by his nephew Louie with whom he was especially close. Lolo served in the U.S. Army during World War II, enlisting in 1943 when he turned 18. He was assigned to the Dixie squadron in the Philippines. After his return he worked for the Santa Fe Railroad before joining the San Bernardino Police Department in 1956 where he worked until he retired in 1981. With his carpentry skills, he remodeled homes for friends and family members and took great pride in finally building his dream home at the "Ranch" where family and friends enjoyed lots of get-togethers. In 1991 Lolo and Carmen sold the Ranch and moved to a mobile home park in Hemet where he made fast friends. They bought a motor home and traveled the U.S.; however, that did not stop him from using his carpentry skills in helping friends in the park and he mentored many. When he built a ramp for his mobile home he was asked by other residents if he would build them a ramp as well. He was more than willing to help other residents in the park. He always enjoyed sharing his knowledge with anyone who was willing to listen. One of the great pleasures in his life was playing pool. For over 25 years, Monday - Friday, he played In the clubhouse with other residents of the park, even playing against teams in other parks in Hemet. Lolo enjoyed watching Angels baseball with Carmen. They always looked forward to baseball season. He was also a recent football fan thanks to his son Mario, calling the Kansas City Chiefs "his" team and loving Patrick Mahomes.
