Born Thursday, July 30, 1942, he was the son of the late Wendell Arthur McClure and the late Dorothy Oxley. And was married to the late Joan McClure who passed away in December 2012.
After high school, Ed served in the U.S. Army, and once discharged from the Army he working as a Maintenance Technician in oil refineries owned by Arco and British Petroleum for 25 years
Ed was a simple guy who loved riding horses, and he also enjoyed leather working and woodworking, he even built his own workshop so he would have a place to practice his techniques. He would like to take camping trips and just being outdoors.
He also loved animals, especially his two puppies, and he was a science and history buff. He had subscriptions to several astronomy magazines.
He loved his family and will be missed by many people who loved him.
Surviving are daughters, Colleen Guidry, Karen Smith, Cheryl Smith, and sons, David Smith and Bill Smith, sisters, Judy, Sharlene, Cynthia and Becky, grandchildren, M'Lissa Thomas, Breana Guidry, Karryssa Fenderson, Jaron Guidry, Sean Henderson and 10 other grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
