David Joseph Poe

David Joseph Poe passed away at the age of 52, on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, in Hemet, California. He was born to his parents, Robert E. Poe and Coreena E. (Barnes) Garrett, on Saturday, October 5, 1968, in Pasadena, California.

After obtaining his Bachelor's from Vanguard University (formerly Southern California College or SCC), he taught Math full time and also substituted when needed, for 17 years. He then moved to South Korea where he taught English for 8 years. After 25 years of teaching in both public and private schools, he returned to school completing his coursework to become an Addiction Counselor, this led him to become a voluntary In-take Counselor at the Salvation Army. David was a caring, gentle, friend to all, son, and brother. David enjoyed learning, reading, and most of all Music. In his spare time, he enjoyed listening to all types of music but loved Elvis and his music. His family best describes him as born-again, a spiritual rebirth, who was always willing to help others as a servant. David's love for his family was immeasurable and he will always be a hero to his community.

David is survived by his loving mother, Coreena Garrett; and his brother, Robert Poe.
