

Cristobal Duenas Aguon, age 70 of Sun City, California died on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 in Riverside, California. He was born Tuesday, November 26, 1940 in Inarajan, Guam; the oldest of fourteen children born to Vicente and Rosalina Aguon. Chris is a Vietnam veteran. During his 6 years of active duty in the United States Army more than half of the time was served in Vietnam. In one of his special assignments, he served as body guard and aid to the in-theatre commander, General William Westmoreland. With General Westmoreland, he traveled to Washington, D.C met with President Lyndon Johnson and slept in the Whitehouse. Following his active military service, Chris remained in the Army Reserve, retiring after 20 years service with the rank of Staff Sargeant. He retired from full-time employment after a 35 year career with Rohr Aerospace in San Diego. Chris is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Gloria Aguon; 2 sons, Christopher Paul Aguon and Gilbert Cota; 3 daughters, Cynthia Gross, Kathleen Stewart and Janice Zuniga; 4 brothers; 6 sisters; 18 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 21st in the Miller-Jones Sun City Mortuary located at 26770 Murrieta Road, Sun City, California. Interment and military honors will take place at 1:30 PM in the Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, staging area #3.
