Wednesday, August 19, 1953 to Lueanna P. Gibson. He attended school
in Houston, TX where he graduated from Jesse H. Jones High School
In May 1972. From the age of 5 CJ knew he wanted to be a Marine. In
September 1973 he graduated from the U.S. Marine Corps. He made the
Marines his life traveling around the world and serving in two wars. CJ
retired from the Marines in July 1995. At that time he decided to make
California his home. Bored with retirement CJ went to work for the Social
Security Administration in March 1996. He held several positions and
worked in various field offices. CJ was known for his positive attitude and
his dedication to work. In June 2014 CJ retired after 18 years.
CJ always found good in everything and everybody, there was never
a situation that was all bad. CJ was a mentor to so many people on
life and relationships. At one time he said they called him "The Love
Doctor." In March 2005 CJ met his soul mate Shawn-Te'. They were
married in November 2008. CJ enjoyed spending quality time with his
wife, entertaining family and friends, camping, fishing, listen to music and
training his puppies. On Sunday, December 14, 2014 after battling cancer
for 6 years CJ was called home to be with the Lord.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Shaneitha Shawn-Te' Gibson;
three daughters, Christine Gibson, Maelina Gibson, and Clarissa
Smalls; two step-children JaVonte' Moore and Aundranique Fellows;
granddaughter, Makalia Gibson; step-granddaughter, Dallas Fellows;
siblings, Lera Lester (Orlando, FL), Michael Gibson (Houston,
TX), Charles Warren (Houston, TX), Ruby Obi (Houston, TX),
Cheryl Warren (Houston, TX), and Jackie Gibson (deceased;
Beloved puppies as well as a host of In-laws, aunts, uncles,
nieces, nephews and friends.
