Carole was preceded in death by her beloved son, William Ty Worsham. She leaves behind her loving children, Robert Worsham and his wife Jennifer, her daughter Elizabeth Worsham Hosey and her husband Richard, and her daughter Debra Worsham Santangelo. She also leaves behind her daughter-in-law, Mercedes Worsham.
Carole’s much-loved grandchildren are Sidney Worsham, Rachel Worsham, Nicole Worsham Conigliaro, Brooke Worsham Scripps, Tuesday Worsham Avila, Clinton Varney, Brienna Santangelo and Vincenzo Santangelo.
Carole was “Grams” to great-grandchildren Sofia, Hailey, Madelyn, Bailey, Aria, Mason, Parker, Maxwell, Hudson and Aurora.
Carole was a life-long devoted Catholic raising her children in the Catholic faith. She was a member of the St. Joseph Mission Church on the Soboba Indian Reservation. The Lakota teachings and ceremonies were also an important part of her spiritual journey. She believed every natural being has a spirit. Her faith gave her comfort and peace.
Carole cared deeply for her family and was a nurturing, dedicated mother and grandmother first and foremost. She would, and did, anything and everything for her children. She was very proud of them but especially proud of how they raised their own children to be loving and kind. Her grandchildren gave her so much joy.
Carole had the sweetest, kindest soul with a warm smile and infectious laugh with a little stubbornness thrown in. She was a natural beauty, incredibly smart and fiercely independent. She was everything good in the world. Her granddaughter, Brooke, said of her grandmother “she was the amazing family matriarch, with a love for gentle beings”. We couldn’t agree more.
Carole was a Southern California girl through and through. She loved the sunshine, gardening, rock and roll, going for a drive, and the beach. She had an immense love for all animals, especially her horses and the many dogs she had throughout her life. She was a big sports fan, following basketball, baseball, hockey but particularly football and horse racing. Carole was a voracious reader and very creative. She was exceptional at drawing, sewing, embroidery and needlepoint but most of all she was a master crocheter. She always had a crochet hook in hand making a cherished gift for a loved one.
Carole was a compassionate spirit who worked her entire life caring for the elderly. She started as a nursing assistant and worked her way to the top as a facility administrator. She loved her patients, and her employees were like family. She took pride in her facility, earning multiple perfect surveys; an incredible accomplishment. Her caring continued into retirement as a volunteer companion for the homebound.
Carole’s family would like to thank everyone at Mission Hospice, especially her dedicated nurse and caregiver.
Lastly, Robert and Elizabeth would like to express their eternal gratitude to their sister, Debra, for taking care of their mom. Debra made it all possible for their mom to live at home these past few years. For that, they can’t thank her enough.
As she wished, Carole’s ashes will be scattered on a future date.
