Anna Elizabeth Rhoads Taylor was born September 25, 1941 in Hemet, California. She died in Hemet July 26, 2023 of natural causes. She was 82 years old. Anna will be buried at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, California. A private graveside service is planned.
After graduating from high school in Moses Lake, Washington Anna attended Multnomah School of the Bible in Portland Oregon, then completed an RN at St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing in Spokane, Washington. She enlisted as a nurse in the United States Air Force where she served at several U.S. bases. During the Vietnam War Anna was stationed in Japan where she cared for injured pilots. She achieved the rank of captain.
After resigning from the Air Force Anna move to Whittier, California where she worked 35 years for Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital. Upon her retirement in 2003 she moved to Hemet to care for her parents in their last years.
Anna is survived by her son Michael Taylor, her brother Mark Rhoads and his wife Marylin, nieces Kristiana Clough, Allison Rhoads, and Micaela Smith along with six grand nephews, and good friend and neighbor Carol Schuster. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter (Dusty) and Alice Rhoads of Hemet.
One of the many verses of Scripture Anna wrote out on cards and placed around her house for encouragement was Psalm 28: 6,7: “Praise be to the LORD, for he has heard my cry for mercy. The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.”
