Joan Darlene Tinker age 76, of Barnes, Wisconsin, passed away at home with her family by her side on Saturday Feb. 1, 2014. Joan was born on December 4, 1937 in Beloit, Wisconsin to Howard and Gladys (Klug) Bakke. Joan attended Pleasant Valley Grade School until 8th grade; this was a one room country school with one teacher. Then she attended and graduated from Beloit Memorial High School.
Joan married Frederick Tinker and to this union two sons were born, George and David. She worked for Brown Swiss, Beloit Corporation, she sold Tupperware and did food demo’s at grocery stores. Joan enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading, the altar guild at Trinity Lutheran, doing puzzles, playing board games and cards.
Joan is preceded in death by her husband Frederick, son George and brother Donald. She survived by son David Tinker of Milton, Wisconsin, brothers; Robert and wife Nancy Bakke of Beloit, Wisconsin, Allen Bakke of Barnes, Wisconsin, four nephews, three nieces, four great nieces, two great nephews and one great great nephew.
Memorial service will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday Feb 7th at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hayward, Wisconsin, with Pastor Mark Tripplet officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to service, 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the church.
