I atttended high school with Randi. We didn't know eachother.  She had an unusual combination of great beauty and shyness. I am upset to learn of her passing. - Marcus S.

My heartfelt condolences go out to Peter & Gary.  I still cannot believe this.  To know Randi was to love 💗 her. She was sweet, honest and true blue. Her smile could light up a room. She taught me how to make an omelette  in Nan Acres.  It was sooo good. Randi will be missed   May her soul rest in eternal peace

Randi had a distinctive, sexy voice. Very much in keeping with the rest of her person.  
Her voice had a sly quality, as if she had a secret. I think the secret was that she had seen things. Things that others would probably not imagine she had seen. After all, she was an accountant.
The secret was that she was an accountant for Camper Van Beethoven and Ten Thousand Maniacs, among others of their ilk. Imagine doing ten thousand tax returns for a bunch of maniacs. You and I couldn’t, but Randi could. And did.
The Stones rehearsing at S.I.R.? Oh yeah, that was Randi doing the books. 
I will just say this as gratuitous life advice to the young people reading this, you can be an accountant and be way hipper than an artiste wanna-be with a graduate school degree and a film grant. (That would be me.) Way, way, hipper. 
Insofar as that is your goal. 
Randi’s goal, insofar as I would presume to understand it, was, as LeBron James famously said, taking her talents to where she could win. Winning would mean working in the midst of the great music of her day. Simple concept, but exceedingly difficult to execute, especially as an accountant. 
But she did it. She did it, and she was part of that secret behind-the-scenes world. And this, to me, accounted for the sly, “I know that you know that I know” quality in her sexy voice. One that is now sorely missed.

I was lucky to be in touch with Randi from 7th grade on, through a series of fortunate circumstances.  She was a Neodymium PEOPLE MAGNET (the strongest magnet), as i learned one night, at Yonkers Raceway.  I came back from making a bet, and there's a guy I don't know talking to Randi (at Yonkers Raceway!!) so i was like "who are you?" - he said he was the son of Bob Stewart who produced Password, The Price Is Right, Pyramid, etc. - I said "yeah, sure".  Well,  i got to tryout for the TV show Jackpot and Randi and i shared that story with laughs as recently as this past April.  She attracted people and we stuck to her and she stuck to us and never let go.  May she be as blessed as we were by being a part of her symphony.

I loved Randi Joy. No, check that, no past tense. I love Randi Joy. She was everything to me in our young lives and she remained an all-time great friend through the decades. She gathered so many special friends throughout her life but I will selfishly claim my spot as close to her as possible, for as long as possible.  I always felt for me that Randi was the young girl in Bruce Springsteen's "Glory Days". "they'll pass you by, Glory Days, in the wink of a young girls eye, Glory Days.."   
We have all had glory days before we met Randi and after we did, but for those glory days it was Randi who made them glorious for me.

Rest in Peace Randi, you are a beautiful soul.

I had the honor of knowing Randi at MVHS and BU. She was always upbeat, caring, and had the perfect middle name.
Her infectious enthusiasm turned me into a Alfred Hitchcock fan.
She often shared her ice cream cones with me.
Randi's senior year she asked me over because she had " a couple questions" about BU. Actually it was many questions, but I didn't mind at all. As we talked she  grew more and more excited about enrolling.
Only a few days after her arrival she invited me over to meet her new friends. Not surprisingly there were many people in the room. 
I can fully understand why Riverside was packed for her funeral.
I neglected to include a quote from Shakespeare "When she shall die take her, and cut her out in little stars, and she will make the face of heaven so fine that all the world will be in love with night, and pay no worship to the garish sun." 


I knew Randi in High School  but remember her sense of humor.  She could make people laugh. And we connected best on that note. People like Randi could retell a story so well I wish I could have been there.... even when I was there!  I feel blessed to have seen her a few short weeks ago even if it means I will morn her all the more. My heart goes out to those who knew her better.  May the gaping hole she has left in your hearts fill with memories that comfort. 

 We are beyond devastated to hear this news. There are no words. Randi was “true blue” in every sense. We shared the truest meaning of friendship for over 60 years.  Friendship of family. Fond memories that last a lifetime. Our heartfelt condolences to Gary and Peter and anyone that was lucky enough to know Randi.  She was certainly, one of a kind. My heart is broken.

As soon after Randi and her family moved next door to my family, we became instant friends. When I think of my childhood, I think of Randi. We only had fun and lots of laughs together. I will always cherish those wonderful memories. Peter and Gary, my heartfelt condolences to you and the family.

I met Randi the first day of Miss Testas 3rd grade class. We became best friends that day. 56 years later, we still started every conversation with “I’ll play with ya!”  Oh Randi, all my best memories have you in them and for the past 50 years you were my link to my childhood. My favorite part of my birthday every year was when you called. Peter and Gary, my heart aches for you.

It is because of Randi that I will forever be known as one of “the mah-jongg girls”…
It is because of Randi that I experienced summertime in a bungalow colony in the Catskills….It is because of Randi that I was brave enough to invite Livingston Taylor to my house for Sunday macaroni dinner…

I am heartbroken. Randi and I first met as freshman at BU when we were 18. She was a good friend.   I hope she knows how much I love her, wherever she is now. 

I just got off the phone with Gary, we spoke for about an hour.  I hung up with a smile on my face because we got to share so many wonderful memories.  The first message I got upon awakening was the news of Randi’ tragic death a few days ago.  I was stunned and saddened by this news.  Gary, Randi and I go back to the Catskills days, quite a few years ago,  It was just a wonderful time of our lives. 

Randi is remembered as one of the sweetest girls I had ever met.  She always had a smile to share and a hint of a glint of “I know what you are thinking” in her eyes.  Condolences to all of her loved ones.  May she rest in eternal peace.  Vaya Con Dios sweet girl.
