I was the architect that Howie (the name he insisted that I call him by) had come to design his last two medical offices that he worked out of ......... both the last one on Westchester Ave. completed around 10 years ago and the shared one prior to that built around 20 years ago in the Rye Ridge Shopping Center........ and would just like to say that it was a real pleasure working with him on both of them. He was quite simply.... a real mensch.

Oh my goodness. Someone was just asking me if I can recommend a primary care doctor, and Dr. Yudin came to my mind. 

I just googled him and learned about his passing, now, in 2024, 6 years after his passing. 

    I am not completely surprised. The last time I saw Dr. Yudin, he was hardly recognizable to me.  I thought that He looked unusually thin, like he might have been battling an illness. 
     I thought Dr. Yudin was one of the best primary care doctors that I have ever met. I felt comfortable speaking to him. 
       I remember doing a physical exam that showed  unusual thyroid values, and he was knowledgeable enough to know that some medications can cause this problem. He gave me a schedule to wean myself off a medication that I was on, and my thyroid values returned to normal, just as he had predicted. 
   Another time, I had chronic anemia (still do), and I questioned him if he didn’t think it was strange, that after every physical, he was always asking me to get back on iron.  He agreed it was strange, and we came up with a plan where he had me take the iron supplements, and then he tested my hemoglobin and ferritin levels at the end of the month. We did this for 3 months, and his investigation led to us finding out that my low hemoglobin was actually normal - for me.  It turns out that my low hemoglobin was not because of iron deficiency. I have a thalassemia trait. 

Based on consistently taking my iron supplements and going back for him to test my ferritin and hemoglobin levels, we realized that my hemoglobin never went above 11.5, even as my ferritin levels rose from my taking the iron supplements.

My condolences to Dr. Yudin's family.  I recently heard of his untimely death and I wanted to express my gratitude for his professionalism and friendship.
He was the doctor for our entire family and we considered him to be a part of that family.

Dr Yudin was my doctor for many years.  He was unique among doctors, incredibly thorough and kind. My husband also became a patient and we will both miss him dearly. 

Since I work in Human Resources, sometimes Dr. Yudin and I would talk over the years about the effects that changes in the health insurance industry were having on patient care and  how both doctors and patients were becoming commoditized.  For Dr Yudin , being a physician was more than just an occupation...he seemed to be a doctor from his soul. He was one of those doctors who spoke up to ensure his voice was heard.  He practiced medicine successfully on his terms, never sacrificing his principles.  Dr. Howard Yudin was someone to be admired, both as a physician and as a man.  We will never forget him and are grateful to have known him and to have been his patients. 

To his family we give our sincerest condolences. He was taken too soon.  May you find comfort in memories.

To the family of Dr. Yudin....I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Dr. Yudin. I first saw Dr. Yudin when I was 15 years old, I’m now 50.   He would always take the time to sit and talk, like I was the only patient he had to see. He was always interested in what was going on in my life, my job, etc.  I hope you some how find comfort in the fact that there are so many people who think he was the greatest. I have been a patient of Dr. Yudin for the past 30 years and had always looked forward to our meetings.  Although his medical advice and guidance was top notch, I really enjoyed most our swapping stories of our children's endeavors.

Sincere condolences to you your children and Gloria and Joel and their family on Howard’s untimely passing. We know he was bravely determined to win this final battle. We have many memories of Howard from camp, school, carpooling , socializing and from mutual friends. We have informed others in our wider circle of his death , and their dismay at this news is testimony of the high regard in which he was held as a friend, physician, proud Jew and family man. He will be missed.
