Terry was born in Lida, Poland on February 15th, 1925 to Berel and Rivka Dworetzky. After Germany invaded Poland in 1939, she and her family escaped by foot to nearby Lithuania where Berel secured visas from Chiune Sugihara, an Imperial Japanese diplomat who helped save thousands of Eastern European Jews at the onset of WWII. She later met Henry Brinberg, whom she married in 1949, and they had two sons, David and Don. She worked at a photo supply company as a bookkeeper for more than 20 years. During retirement, she enjoyed spending winters in Florida, traveling the world with her late cousin Leni Markell z”l, and playing Mahjong with friends. Terry loved Israel and was a longtime supporter of Haddasah.
Terry is survived by her sons David (Marta) and Don (Barbara), grandchildren Ariel (Jared), Kayla (Chris), Mimi, and Isaac and great-grandchildren Ryder and Brynn. She is preceded in death by her husband Henry and sister Celia.
