Winona Marie (Shanklin) Kilgore

Winona Shanklin Kilgore, 79, passed away peacefully in Bossier City, LA on February 09, 2023 with family by her side. Winona was born in Lubbock, TX to Robert and Lela Shanklin. After moving to Ft. Worth, TX, at the tender age of 18, she became a beauty operator. Deciding to change her vocation and residence, she moved to Shreveport/Bossier, LA and worked for Walgreens and then Interstate Electric Co. until they closed.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father; sister, Darlene Robertson and brother, Stanley Shanklin.

Winona is survived by her husband of 44 years, Jerry Kilgore; son, Vaughn Cavanaugh (Hailee); daughter-in-law, Kristen Arthur; brothers, Roy Shanklin (Jeanne), Troy Shanklin (Andrea), Wesley Shanklin (Denise); granddaughter, Crystal Fontenot (Drew); great-grandchildren, Noah and Tatum and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held to celebrate the life of Winona Kilgore on Monday, February 13, 2023. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel. A Memorial Service will follow at 10:00 a.m.
