Services will be conducted for Willie Fae Roberts, age 90, in the chapel of Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home on Friday July13, 2012 at 10:00 a.m.with Bro. Gevan Spinney officiating. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Nana, as she was called by her grandchildren, great grandchildren and many others, entered into rest on Tuesday, July 10, 2012. She was born on March 1, 1922 in Mexia, Texas to William A. and Evie F. Sterling.
Nana was a resident of Haughton, LA and a member of First Baptist Church of Haughton. She retired as a school bus driver from the Bossier Parish School Board in 1982 after twenty-two years of service. Prior to becoming a bus driver she and her husband Earl owned Roberts’ Grocery in Bellevue, LA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Fred R. Scarbrough, Sr. and Harold E. Roberts, Sr., sisters, Flora Lee Anderson and Alta Mae Sterling, brothers Melvin R. Sterling and James C. Sterling, and daughter-in-law Kathy R. Scarbrough.
She is survived by her sons Fred R. Scarbrough, Jr. and wife Lois, and Harold E. Roberts, Jr. and wife Alice, all of Haughton, LA., five grandchildren, Christi Hall (Jimmy), Kevin Roberts (Pam), Jessica Willis (Hack), Reagan Smith (Justin), and Kasi Corley, and eleven great grandchildren, Lauren Davidson, Kelsey, Clay and Coby Roberts, Brad Rachal, Starla and Tripp Willis and Meg, Kate, Addyson and Coltyn Smith.
We will remember Nana as the loving, kind person who made sure we and all others she knew and met were treated with great respect and love.
Honoring Nana as pallbearers will be Kevin Roberts, Jimmy Hall, Hack Willis, Clay Roberts, Brad Rachal and William Anderson.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ted Warren, and the staff of Pilgrim Manor and Agape Hospice for the great care given to and compassion shown for our Mother.
