BOSSIER CITY, LA-a memorial service celebrating the life of William “Oscar” Faust, who passed away on September 28, 2016 at the age of 94, will be held on Sunday, October 2 at 2:00 p.m. at Hill Crest Funeral Home, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, LA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Oscar was a retired United States Navy Veteran where he served in WWII on the USS California. He owned and ran the Bank Barber Shop on Edwards Street in Downtown Shreveport for many years.
Oscar was preceded in death by his parents; Acie and Lola Jane Faust; wife, Marcelle Faust; son, James “Butch” Faust; daughter, Martha Faust Reeves; brothers, Bill, Sidney and Elmer; sisters, Lucille, Betty Rae and Nanalie. He is survived by daughter, Pat Taylor; grandchildren, Tara “Peanut” Gardner, Matthew “Fat Cat” Faust (Lisa) and MiMi Bucy; daughter-in-law, Miriam Faust; sister, Ouida “Pete” Marcelli and brother, Jerry Don Faust (Betty).
Also left to cherish his memory are his great grandchildren; Lauren Faust, Tyler “Pooter Scooter” Gardner, Karsten and Roland Faust; great-great grandchildren; Julian and Bella Grace and numerous nieces and nephews.
“Daddy loved everyone and would give you the shirt off his back. He was a great son, brother, husband, uncle and Papaw.” The family wishes to thank all of his friends at the War Veterans Home and “I know he will miss playing dominoes with them. I would like to especially thank his head nurse Rhonda Johnson and all of the wonderful and sweet nurses who cared for my daddy.”
