A celebration of life will be held for Walter “Walt” Adams, Jr. at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Michael Barrett officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until service time.
Walt was born in Bossier City, LA on January 29, 1971 and passed away on September 1, 2021.
Walt was a man of many passions and everything he did was with passion. Walt loved fishing. The river was his jam and his boat his second love; unless you count his number 71s racecar. Racing was a passion. He and the 71s car will be missed on the dirt track. Walt spent many years writing, singing, and playing music with the Nomads. Those were good times that will always be remembered. Judging by the antlers on the wall, hunting has to be included here as well. Of course, these were not even his day job. Walt owned his own boat repair shop in South Bossier (Adams Marine Services). To hear Walt tell it, he has had his hands on almost every boat in town. Above all else, though, Walt loved his family and friends. Most weekends he could be expected to be frying fish, boiling crawfish, playing cornhole, being Pop Pop, hanging out, or trying to make people laugh (most often in inappropriate ways).
He was preceded in death by his father Walter Neal Adams, Sr.
Walt is survived by his wife, Terri Copes; children, Stetson Sistrunk and wife Shelby, Holly Arinder and husband Coleman and Mallory Adams; mother, Rita Adams; sister, Kim Sanders and husband Buddy; grandchildren, Lakelyn Sistrunk and twin Arinder babies (on the way); brother-in-law, Chuck Copes and wife Patty, sisters-in-law, Donette Cloud and husband Randy, Tammy Heminger and husband Jeff, Tracy Hadwin and husband Tony and Jerri Copes; numerous nieces and nephews; and the best friends a man could ask for.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the ICU nurses at Willis-Knighton Pierremont for the excellent care and compassion shown. Their kindness and skill throughout this time will not be forgotten. There are not enough words to express appreciation to his friends for checking on and praying for him, Terri, and the kids.
