Celebration of Life Services for Mrs. Viola (Vi) Shutty Kelley, 95, will be held 12:00 p.m., on Friday, April 29, 2011, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home. The family will be receiving guest for visitation from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Friday, April 29, 2011 at Hill Crest.
Mrs. Viola Kelley was born February 22, 1916, in Boynton, MO, to the late Frank D. and Lucy Ardell Jackson Shutty and was called to her heavenly home April 23, 2011, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Viola Kelley moved to the Shreveport-Bossier area in 1965, after living in many different states and foreign countries as a military wife. She was a member of the Barksdale Officers Wives Club, Garden Club, and Antique Club. Vi will be remembered as a loving mother, caring grandmother, doting great-grandmother and devoted friend to those who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Don Shutty; and her beloved husband of 51 years, Col. Walter Kelley.
Left to cherish Mrs. Kelley's memory and tell her stories will be her daughters, Lyn Curran of Bossier City, LA, and Lanell Grisoli and husband Rob of Metairie, LA; grandchildren, Cullen Curran of Maryville, TN, Kelley Stevens of Bossier City, LA, Bryce Grisoli and wife Barrie of Ft.Worth, TX, Graham Grisoli of Newport Beach, CA, and great-granddaughter Saebren Stevens along with numerous extended family members and many wonderful friends.
The family would like to express their thanks to the "Tuesday Lunch Bunch" for their continued support and love of Vi. Also a very special thanks to Don, who's conversations with Mrs. Kelley always left her with a sparkle in her eye.
