Terry G. Bryant

HAUGHTON, LA - Terry G. Bryant passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home Friday, March 24, 2017. He was an exemplary husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed by his loving family and countless friends.

Terry was born September 8, 1940 in El Dorado, Arkansas to Edna Montgomery. He shared his life with and was married to Shirley Williams Bryant for over fifty years. Together, they lovingly raised two children, Kimberly and Layton, and enjoyed a life full of love and laughter with their four grandchildren, Hanna, Zach, Hampton, and Adeline, and a great-grandson, Cohen. His greatest joy came from spending countless moments watching cartoons and tinkering with his beloved grandchildren. Beginning his career with Williams Pressure Service in 1964, Terry transitioned to Milbar Hydro-Test, Inc. in January of 1977, where he faithfully served as superintendent until May of 2011. During this time, Terry managed pipeline testing projects throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Asia, and South America. Terry and his family thoroughly enjoyed serving as a partner in The Simple Church.

Terry is preceded in death by his mother, Edna Montgomery, and his special aunt Nina Bryant. He is survived by his devoted wife Shirley; brother Ron and wife Gloria of Brinkley, AR; daughter Kimberly Bryant Monk of Haughton, LA and husband Jim, granddaughter Hanna Leigh and grandson Zachary Taylor; son Terry Layton and wife Danielle of Haughton, LA and grandson Hampton Lee and granddaughter Adeline Ann; and great-grandson Cohen Hall.

Memorials may be made in Terry’s honor to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 and The Simple Church, 601 Benton Road, Bossier City, LA 71111.

A memorial service celebrating Terry’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 27, 2017, at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Justin Haigler, pastor of The Simple Church, officiating. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.
