Ted was born in in Falls City Nebraska, November 9, 1925. He is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Betty Wing of Benton, Louisiana; his parents, Alfred and Wilma Wing of Falls City, Nebraska; 3 brothers, Bob Wing of California, Byron Wing of Nebraska, Ronnie Wing of Kansas; 3 sisters, Shirley Herman of Colorado, Arlene McGinnis of Nebraska, and Judy Baumann of North Carolina.
He is survived by: his sister, Barbara and her husband Roger of Kansas; his brother Jack and his wife Patty of California. He is also survived by two children, daughter, Deborah Wing DeCuir and her husband Stephen of Mansura, Louisiana, and son, Ted Raymond Wing, III and his wife Martha of Navarre, Florida; grandchildren include, Danielle Machen of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Kevin DeCuir of Lafayette, Louisiana, Stephanie Sanders, of Navarre Florida, Alisha Wing, of Navarre, Florida. He has four great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive him.
Ted joined the United States Air Force when he was 19 and committed his life fighting for America’s freedom for 30 years obtaining the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He was a proud veteran after serving in 3 wars; World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War flying missions as a B-52 Tail Gunner. After retirement he worked for Schlitz Beverage Company for 10 years. He then obtained his broker’s license and joined his wife in their real estate company, Mike Wing and Associates. He was a Mason and a member of El Karubah Shriners serving as commander. He was a member of Krewe of Centaur and participated in all its sponsored activities. He then decided to completely retire to his lake house in Benton, Louisiana on Black Bayou. He loved to hunt and fish and his greatest joy was being "Paw Paw" and teaching his great-grandchildren the secrets of catching the biggest fish.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2022, from 10-11 am at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home in Haughton, Louisiana. Immediately following the visitation will be an honorary salute provided by the United States Air Force at the Grave Site of his wife. Presiding will be Rev. Harry Smith of Texas, brother of his daughter-in-law.
