

A funeral service will be held to celebrate the life of Shirley Ann Youngblood at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Cypress Baptist Church in Benton, LA with Reverend Tommy Patton officiating. A graveside service will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday, April 28, 2023, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00pm.
Shirley was born in Ruston, LA on March 27, 1937, and passed away peacefully at the Carpenter House surrounded by her family on April 26, 2023.
She graduated from Minden High School. She proudly served her community as a Lions Club member, Shrine Club of Northwest Louisiana Ladies Auxiliary, and Girl Scout troop leader. She worked diligently as a registered nurse for 20 years at T. E. Schumpert Hospital and retired from the Bossier Parish School Board as a school nurse.
She was a faithful member of Cypress Baptist Church for many decades and loved mission work including Operation Christmas Child, Campers on Mission, and international mission work. Shirley was a gifted seamstress who shared her blankets, dresses, and numerous other works with friends, family, and many others through her mission work. She loved to go camping and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years Bobby Youngblood; parents, Everett and Lula Frazier; and granddaughter, Patricia Owen.
Shirley is survived by daughter, Sandra Abbott and husband Wayne; sons, Dr. Charles Owen and wife Mary; Mark Owen and wife Shirlee; sister, Pat Betts; brother, Reagan Frazier; grandchildren, Myra Abraham and husband Rahul, Dr. Kellie Christoffel and husband Kyle, Jessica Hall and spouse Dr. Michelle Sorrells, Heather Hebert, Cheri Malec and husband Matt, Emily Owen, Portia Owen, Natalie Owen, Crissa Owen, Noel Owen, Neil Owen and wife Megan; great-grandchildren Sam Owen, Braden Kerns, Skyler Kerns, Ariadne Owen, Lucas Owen, Isaac Owen, Jack Malec, and Josephine Malec.
Pallbearers will be Rahul Abraham, David Andrews, Jeremy Burge, Eddy Hamby, Matt Malec and Patrick Rosales. Honorary Pallbearer will be Wayne Abbott.
