Shirley enjoyed working at Everett's Book Bindery for over 30 years. She was a long time member of Waller Baptist Church. For the last several years she attended Stockwell Road Baptist Church with her son, Billy and his wife Becky. Shirley was passionate about working with children. She taught 3rd grade Sunday school for a number of years at Waller Baptist. She worked with preschoolers at South Bossier Baptist Church and Cypress Baptist Church.
Shirley was blessed with a wonderful daughter-in-law, Becky. Becky was her buddy and care giver. She was a calming presence for Shirley/Mom in frustrating times.
One of Shirley's wishes was to say thank you to her friend, Joan Shows, for the many visits and special outings. Also, a thank you to Maxine Drewitt, friend and hair dresser for all the years of making it possible to keep her Friday appointments.
Shirley was loved by many and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
The family would like to thank Savannah Grand for their support and loving care of Shirley. Also, a thank you to Pilgrim Manor Rehab for their loving care.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Lillie Foster; husband, Willie Tollison; siblings, Barbara Ann McCraw, Brenda Cook, and Guy Foster; and granddaughter, Rebekah Ann Tollison. She leaves behind her children, Debbie McCain and husband Sammie of Lake Lotawana, MO and Billy Wayne Tollison and wife Becky of Benton, LA; grandchildren, Jamie McCain and wife Shelley of Grain Valley, MO, Jenifer McCain Ward and husband Josh of Blue Springs, MO, Savannah Tollison Snyder and husband James of Bossier City, LA, Susanne Tollison Delrie and husband Dusten of Benton, LA, and Caroline Tollison Glenn and husband Alex of Bossier City, LA; great-grandchildren, Mason, Marlie, Maizie and Maverick McCain, Delanie and Malorie Ward, Josiah and Annagrace Snyder, Levi and Kyleigh Martin, Draven Delrie, Gabby, Titus, and Bonnie Glenn; and her siblings, Wilburn Foster and Jean Foster Wyatt of South Carolina, Ruby Foster Hickerson and John Wayne Foster of Shreveport, LA.
Services to celebrate Shirley’s life will be at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M. prior to the service.
Pallbearers are Josh Ward, Jamie McCain, James Snyder, Alex Glenn, Dusten Delrie, Mason McCain, Levi Martin, Josiah Snyder, Maverick McCain, and Titus Glenn. Honorary pallbearers are Greg Fielding, Ray Wilkes, and Jimmy Brown.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Shirley's memory to Stockwell Road Missionary Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
