Sherry Diane Upshaw

Sherry Diane Upshaw of Bossier City passed peacefully on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Services will be held at Hill Crest Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2022. Visitation with the family and Sherry will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022, at Hill Crest.

Sherry was born and raised in Coushatta, Louisiana where she met her husband of 35 years, Gary, who preceded her in death in 1998. They moved to Bossier City where they began a family business. She was very involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and was Memaw, Aunt Sherry, and a surrogate mom to so many. She also served as a Bossier Parish School Board member while her daughter was in high school.

Sherry was one of the strongest, loving, and fun people you’ve ever met and those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her will never forget her sweet smile and unconditional love for them.

Sherry is preceded in death by her husband, Gary Wayne; sons, Shane and Rodney; mother and father, Fern and Oscar; grandmother and grandfather, Pa Annie and Papaw Gervey; and great aunt and uncle, Mamaw Auntie and Uncle Bryant.

She will be sorely missed and survived by her daughter, Roxanne “Roxie” and her boyfriend Christian; grandchildren, Rusty, Tiffany, Rodney, and Jennifer; great grandchildren, Brayden, Keagan, Rylee, Millie, and Kylee; her sister, Linda; her brother, Steve and his fiancée Donna; her dearest friends, Patsy and Aunt Carolyn; and countless other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to the Louisiana Association for the Blind.

Pallbearers are Wayne Breedlove, Mark Allen, Jordan Lewis, Dusty Allen, Joseph Lewis, Dean Cotton, and Steven Elliott.

Honorary Pallbearers are Charles Ray Cannon and Johnny Johnson.
