Ruth King Hastings

Services celebrating the life of Ruth King Hastings will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Austin Eakin officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home.

Ruth was born in Shreveport, LA on July 19, 1930 to R.H. King, Sr. and Myrtle Beaird King. She worked at AT&T until her retirement. She loved the outdoors, NASCAR, LSU football and the Saints.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, R.H. King, Jr. and wife Janice and brother-in-law, Numa "Frenchy" Landry.

Ruth is survived by her son, Sammy Hastings, Jr.; grandsons, Corey Hastings and wife Christy and Ryan Hastings; granddaughter, Jessica Patrick and husband Chad; grandchildren, Jax, Levi, Ava, Katelyn and C.J.; sister, Billie Jean Landry and brother, Calvin King and wife Margaret.

Pallbearers will be Chad Patrick, C.J. Patrick, Bert Revoir, Denny Lindsey, Joey Landry and Danny Hobbs. Honorary pallbearer will be Randy King.

The family would like to thank Dr. Angelo and Barbara from Bossier Family Medicine as well as Heart of Hospice for their kindness and care.
