Services will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at 11 am with visitation from 9 am-11 am. Graveside committal will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park.
Bob was born November 26, 1936, in Sheffield, Alabama to Whitson L. Bryan and Mattie K. Vines Bryan. He married Frances Jo Bryant on May 22, 1959. He began a long, successful career in the military with service in the United States Marine Corps from 1954-1958. Bob then joined the United States Air Force and served until his retirement in April 1985. He was stationed active and temporary duty in many overseas countries including England, Spain, The Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand and Turkey.
‘Chief’ enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, gardening, yard care and growing fruit trees. He was a passionate fan of 1967 Chevy Camaros and was a deacon at Airline Baptist Church.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Frances J. Bryan of Benton; and his children, Cammie Kay Emory of Benton, Tammie Rae Bellotte and husband Steve of Farmersville, Texas, and Ty Whitson Bryan and wife Lynn of Benton. He was loving Grandpa to Rachel Korodan (Aaron), Nathaniel Bellotte (Elizabeth), Bryan David Bellotte (Katrina), Tiphanie Sumrall (Dustin), Whitson Emory and Robert ‘Bo’ Emory. Bob is survived by 3 brothers-in-law, 4 sisters-in-law, 6 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Whitson and Mattie Bryan of Calera, Alabama; sister-in-law, Jess Bruner of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; brother-in-law, Cameron Edward Bryant, Jr. of Winfield, Alabama; and one infant brother, Ronald Marcus Bryan.
Pallbearers will be members of the US Air Force Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Nathaniel Bellotte, Bryan Bellotte, Whitson Emory, Bo Emory, and grandsons-in-law, Dustin Sumrall and Aaron Korodan.
