Sergeant Wade, born February 19, 2016 and a native of Dodge City, KS, served eight years in the U.S. Navy and 14 years in the U.S. Air Force. After retiring from the military, Dick, worked for the VA Hospital in Shreveport, LA, for 18 years as their Chief of M&O Engineering Services.
Dick was a master craftsman in woodworking and played golf until his health took a turn for the worse. He loved this country, his yard, growing tomatoes, a good Boudreaux joke, and most of all his family.
This WWII hero is survived by his wife of 63 years, Luby Theresa Dupree of Simmesport, LA; his daughter, Jackie Wade Ruffing and her husband Richard; daughter, Barbara Sue Wade; son, Frank Wade and his wife Ashley; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation is Tuesday, June 7th, 5-7:00 p.m. at Hill Crest Funeral Home in Haughton. His funeral service is at Asbury Methodist Church in Bossier City, Wednesday, June 8th at 11:00 a.m. with interment at Hill Crest Memorial Park, Haughton.
