Richard Taylor, 70, passed on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, in Shreveport, Louisiana, at Willis-Knighton North. He was born on Saturday, April 24, 1954, on Barksdale Air Force Base, Bossier City, Louisiana, to the late Archie and Idelle Pyle Taylor.
Richard served this grateful nation, enlisting in the United States Air Force for a period of six years as a telecommunicator. He made a career in residential painting and was self-employed. Richard had a love of feeling free while riding his motorcycles and traveling God's country. He enjoyed flying RC Planes in his spare time and he always liked watching NASCAR.
Richard was preceded in passing by his parents; and brother Johnny Taylor.
Left to cherish Richard's wonderful memory will be; his beloved wife Lisa Taylor; two brothers: Randy Taylor (Ivette), Curtis Taylor (Michelle); six children: Eric Taylor (Anne), Robert Taylor, Jennifer Ishee (Thomas), Kristi Taylor, Dwayne Massey (Bianca), Hannah Ogea (Joe), ten grandchildren: Madison Diaz (Orlando), Mackenzie Nicks (Levi), Shelbi Hart, Aslyn Taylor, Jocelyn Taylor, Grayson Ishee, River Massey, Emmalynn Ogea, Judson Ogea, Sophia Taylor; four great-grandchildren: Isabela Diaz, Emerson Diaz, Lucas Diaz, Archer Nicks; along with many extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the nursing staff, Dr. Akbarian-tefaghi, Dr. Kasabali, of Willis-Knighton North, Robert Ryan, and Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, our friends, family, and our church family, for the care provided, condolences, prayers, and friendships, during our greatest time of need.
The family will be receiving guests for visitation on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 5 pm - 7 pm, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana. There will be a Celebration for Richard on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at 10 am, in the Chapel of Hill Crest with Pastor Larry Earhart officiating.
Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Hill Crest Memorial Park, Haughton, Louisiana.
Honoring Richard as pallbearers will be Dwayne Massey, Thomas Ishee, Jacob Taylor, Joe Ogea, Greg Morris, Clay Massey, and Creighton Massey. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Taylor, Randy Taylor, Curtis Taylor, Grayson Ishee, and Judson Ogea.
