Funeral services for Richard M. Shaw, 87, will be held Saturday, December 26, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Hill Crest Funeral Home, 601 Highway 80 east, Haughton, Louisiana 71037. Officiating will be Pastor Randy Harper from Bellaire Baptist Church. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 26, 2020 prior to the services at 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mars Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, 1282 Mars Hill Church Road, Atlanta, Louisiana at 2:00 p.m.
Richard was born on August 27, 1933 to Clarence O. Shaw and Ivy Shaw in Montgomery, Louisiana and he passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020 in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Richard was a resident of Bossier City. He worked and retired from Delta Airlines in 1994 after 34 years of service. He was a member of Bellaire Baptist Church. He graduated from Montgomery High School. His hobbies were hunting and fishing. He dearly loved his children and grandchildren, and enjoyed their activities. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his son Craig A. Shaw.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Shaw; brother, Leo Shaw; children, Stephanie Wiley (Larry); Rudy Shaw (George); Eric Shaw (Cathy); daughter-in-law, Marcia Shaw; grandchildren, Cody and Will Shaw, and Jeff Padgett; great grandchildren, Ryder and Ridleigh Padgett, and Beau Shaw; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Honoring Richard as pallbearers will be Coy Shaw, Will Shaw, Jeff Padgett; Eric Shaw, Hal Curley, and Russell Carrriker. Honorary pallbearer for Mr. Shaw will be Rick McLain.
The family suggests memorials may be made to Bellaire Baptist Church in Bossier City, Louisiana.
