He was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on January 6, 1948. Randy graduated from Bossier High School and was a confirmed bachelor of 76 years. He worked for the VA Hospital for some 35 years and had been retired for the last 15 years. Randy had a great passion for hunting (especially ducks and squirrels) and he loved his fishing. Most importantly, he loved his little beagle dogs.
He joins in Heaven his father, Raymond Leo Bates; mother, Joy Faye Bates; and his sister Judy Holdsworth.
Left to cherish his memory is his brother, Roy R Bates and his wife Janis of Bossier City, Louisiana; his nieces and nephews Tammy, Terry, Connie, Ambia, Raymond, Shanda and Denson; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life for Randy will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2024 beginning at 2pm at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held prior to services from 1pm until 2pm at HIll Crest Memorial Funeral Home.
