Native Americans believe being a warrior is not about fighting, it is about living from your heritage, honoring your ancestors and learning from what we encounter.

Mr. Parker did these things during his life.  Now he is resting with his ancestors.

To conquer others is to have power.  To conquer oneself is to know the way of wisdom.  

Few people are able to set aside pride in order to become a better person.  Mr. Parker was one of those few people.  

We are stronger when love is an active part of what defines who we are. Mr. Parker had many strengths, but the one strength that illuminated all other was the abundance of love he had.

Condolences to -ALL- members of the Parker family.  Mr. Ralph was a special person, possibly even the last of his kind.  He will be missed.  Yet, those who truly knew him have endless memories of time shared.

Dear Buddy and Karen,
I am so sorry for the loss of your dad.  Uncle Ralph was such a lovely, giving man.  He was so generous with his smile, his comfort and his kind words.  He will be missed greatly but I know that he has a very special place in heaven, which should be a comfort to us all.

I know different members of the Parker family.  Mr.  Parker was someone I respected.  He loved his family.

Son, Buddy and wife, Karen tended to matters at home while Mrs. Parker was at the nursing home with Mr. Parker.  When his daughter, Dee and husband, Pete were within his sight, Mr. Parker's eyes lit up and began dancing with joy.  Although Dee and Pete provided items and articles for Mr. Parker, it was the happiness shared between the three of them that was priceless, precious and meaningful.  

Many hands provided care for Mr. Parker.  I think the message he left here for all who knew him is that love is not a scale and can not be measured. 

Friend of the Parker Family

As the old saying goes, all good things eventually come to an end.  And so it was with Ralph, who was perched at the top of those categorized as good men.  But the end of this life only means the end of direct human association with those left here on earth; the eternal association with most of those left behind is a fulfillment of Christ's promise.

I was only seven when I first met Ralph who was courting my sister, Titter (Dorothy).  I cherish the 65 plus years that I knew him for in them we had many enjoyable times in all sorts of endeavors from quiet family moments to highly active hunting expeditions.  He was always easy-going and the best company with his laid-back demeanor and keen sense of humor.  He loved and cared for his family and his family is fortunate for having him as the family patriarch.

Even with a medical diagnosis of a terminal condition, he maintained his good cheer and family focus.  He didn't despair but maintained an attitude intended to beat the odds.  With that attitude and personality he became a favorite with the care givers in his medical care facility.  Through his final years, he maintained his concern and love for all in an even and unbiased manner whether reciprocated or not.  Few of us could ever live up to that standard.

Ralph also received blessings during his medical confinement with the support he received.  His wife, Titter, was there daily, giving him comfort, moral support and being his link with the outside world that he missed so much.  Son Buddy and his wife, Karen, not only tried to handle all the matters that arose from his condition but also were always there to support Titter in maintaining her life while spending the days with him.  When Titter's eyesight failed and she could no longer drive, Buddy and Karen ensured that she had daily visits to Ralph at the facility.

In closing, I feel it is safe to say that the world lost one of its finest but Heaven received a charter member.  We are all better individuals for having Ralph share his life with us.

Mr. Parker liked having fun.  His wife, Mrs. Parker was with him most days.  His son was seen on occasion and his daughter and her husband visited him regularly.  Here at the nursing home, residents and staff will miss him.

Dad loved to eat and loved eating at Notinis Restaurant.  Pete and I had the privilege to share this outing with dad.  We both enjoyed being in his company but most enjoyed him enjoying himself.  This is a precious memory we will both hold near our hearts always.

Mr. Parker was a loving man. He never judged anyone for what they did or believed in.There is nothing but love in HIS HEART. He enjoyed weekly visits from his family , to see the smile on his face when they would take him outside to feed the birds, or to receive a home cooked meal. I am blessed to have knowed him.He will be missed but not forgotten.

After reading Buddy and Karen's entries, I want to add another message. My children, husband and I are incredibly grateful to Karen and Buddy for their unfailing, loving and constant support of both Titter and Ralph. There was never a call unanswered, a need not met. A most heartfelt thank you from all of us Guillots. God bless you.

Setting aside time to pray, at the beginning and end of each day.

My greatest treasure of all, is the one who never refused my call.

It has been 1 wk ago today when Dad moved from here to Heaven...it was a sad day for those he left behind....&.... a glorious day for him. I am certain he is quite busy reuniting with past friends & family, yet still thinking of those who one day will join him in the place prepared for him by his Lord. The memory I will hold the highest is the day He & I were fishing at the pond & he looked me in the eye & said " I need to tell you something "....I said " what is that? " He told me that the past 2 yrs. have been the happiest he has ever had..that he had always wanted a place like this & he finally got it..Thank you. I was caught a bit off guard & could only say "You are welcome..you deserved it"

There are not enough words to express how I feel about my father-in-law.  He was a gentle giant. He never uttered an unkind word or complained about a thing.  He was a blessing to anyone that knew him. He loved his family, God, gardening, lending a helping hand, eating, a good fire in the fireplace and just plain enjoyed being alive.  God could not have blessed me with a more loving father-in-law. I can see him now.... tending the flowers in God's heavenly garden.  Rest in peace - I love you.

Ralph could always make you laugh! He so loved his wife, children and grandchildren, truly his pride and joy. He was a faithful man, devoted to his family..including his late parents-in-law. He and Titter were a true and inspiring love match. God rest his soul and comfort his wife and children. I was proud to be his sister-in-law.

You have my love and are in my prayers, Dee.  As you know, I know all too well the anguish one goes through when watching a parent stricken with alzheimers slowly diminish.  I am so, so, sorry for your loss.  You are and will continue to be in my thoughts.

Mr. Parker was such a wonder man. I enjoyed visiting with him when I went with his daughter Dee(my sister-in-law, sister). He always loved to play cards and win. My love & prayers are with his daughter.

Dee, I know your dad had a long journey.  I also know you were right there beside him. Many times you mentioned how blessed you were to have him in your life.  My message to you today, is that he too was blessed to have you in his life.

Dee, your dad was so dear to me. I will miss him very much. I will always remember playing cards with him & him winning. Mine & Dan's prayers are with you & Pete.

I will truly miss Mr. Parker. I enjoyed visiting with him along with his daughter, Dee, who is more of a sister than a sister-in-law. He was a wonderful person to know.

Growing up I always looked forward to visiting Ralph and Titter. Two of the kindest people I've ever known. Ralph had such a sweet spirit. My deepest sympathy to his family for a loss that will be felt by many.  I hope that all of the wonderful memories you have will soon replace the sadness you surely feel right now. May God bless you and keep you in the days ahead.

Karen - I'm so sorry to hear about your father-in-law.  I know he has struggled for a long time - but now his suffering is over and he is home. It's hard to let them go - but you hate to see them suffer.  I know your faith is strong and that is what you rely on.

I AM VERY SAD TO HEAR OF MR.PARKERS PASSING. MRS.DOROTHY I WILL KEEP YOU IN MY PRAYERS. I KNOW YOU HAVE LOVED HIM TOTALLY. I REMEMBER HOW YOUR EYES AND HIS LIT UP WHEN YOU TOLD ME HOW YOU BOTH MET AND FELL IN LOVE. PLEASE HOLD ON TO YOUR PRECIOUS MEMORIES . WE LOVE YOU .

Dad was a kind, gentle and loving soul.  I am fortunate and blessed to have him as my father.  He never put any boundaries on his love or generosity.  

I miss dad already but know he is with the angels and he is okay.  Knowing that, and his love, gives me the strength to continue my life without him.
