Nancy Jean Spataro, age 61, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Willis Knighton, Bossier City, Louisiana following a medical procedure. Nancy was born Tuesday, May 28, 1963, on Columbus Air Force Base, Mississippi, to Derwood and Barbara Ferguson.
Nancy enjoyed walking in God's light. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Haughton for many years and took great pride in advocating for others. She was a 1981 graduate of Parkway High School, Bossier City, Louisiana. Following graduation Nancy's employment consisted of working as a Dental Assistant for a period of time before transitioning to her career in Accounts Payable with Cintas, and her current position in Accounts Payable with the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office. She had a love for life and found herself living it to the absolute fullest with her best-friend, Rickey.
Nancy's greatest accomplishment would be grandparenting. Her grandchildren where the apples of her eye. Nancy flew to Abilene, Texas to pick up Remi and fly back to Louisiana with her. Maddi wanted to fly as well and Nancy made her a deal; when she turned seven, Nanna would return to fly with Maddi to Louisiana. She lived for her grandchildren. Nancy also enjoyed tackling puzzles with her mom, crocheting, and gardening.
Nancy loved to travel with Rickey; some of their favorite places to travel was Hot Springs, Arkansas, Branson, Missouri, and anywhere else Rickey wanted to go. Nancy absolutely loved doing anything and everything Rickey wanted to do. She loved taking care of, and couldn't do enough for him. Not only were they best of friends, but they were the true essence of soul-mates. They had upcoming travels planed for Nancy's birthday to Alaska; she will now beat him there.
Nancy will be remembered for her servants heart, mind, and soul. She had such a keen sense of kindness towards others and was always available to lend an ear or shoulder to anyone in need. Nancy touched so many lives and will forever be remembered for her kindness toward others.
Nancy is survived by her beloved husband of twenty plus years, Richard Joseph Spataro; her son Brett Keene; and her daughter Stefani Peters (Jason); her mother Barbara Jean Ferguson; her granddaughter Remi Peters and her granddaughter Maddi Peters; along with many extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
