Mrs. Mildred M. Alison passed away on Monday, October 5, 2020, at Savannah Grand in Bossier City, LA. She began her life on December 24, 1925, in Shreveport, LA and was one of two daughters born to parents, Thomas and Louella McDowell.
In earlier years, Mildred worked in sales and bookkeeping. She was a friendly lady who loved to visit and talk with others. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and exploring family genealogy. Mildred loved her church, Cypress Baptist, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Alison was preceded in death by her husband, Hartwell J. Alison, Jr.; son, Richard Alison; sister, Margaret Bond; and her parents. She is survived by her son, Rory Alison and wife Vicky; grandchildren, Bronwyn Wilkerson and husband Gene, Kriston Ballard and husband Jason, Kaitlin O’Bier and husband A.J., and Jacob Alison and wife Skyler; along with eight great-grandchildren and one on the way.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Passages Hospice and Savannah Grand for all of their care and compassion shown to Mildred.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cypress Baptist Church, Alzheimer’s Association, or to the charity of choice.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
