A Memorial Service of remembrance of the life of Michael John Corcoran will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel, Haughton, LA. The family will receive friends at 1:00pm, until service time.
Mike was born on October 3, 1943 in Clinton, IA. After graduation, he began a career in the military where he proudly served his country for 22 years. His military career included two combat tours in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969 and again from 1970 to 1971. Duty stations included Fort Leonard Wood, MO, Fort Belvoir, VA, and a lengthy tour in Germany.
Mike retired in 1984 as a First Sergeant, and his decorations include a Bronze Star and many other commendations and citations awarded during his two decades of selfless service to his country.
Shortly after settling in Louisiana, Mike began a commercial/residential painting business which kept him busy for years. He enjoyed fishing and gardening as well as time with family and friends. In addition, he was a lover of all animals.
He is preceded in death by his mother, June Corcoran; sisters; Renee Onken and Patti King, and grandson, Michael Corcoran.
Mike is survived by his wife of 34 years, Ann Corcoran; sister - RoseAnn Granda (John), daughter - Gayla Corcoran (Peter), son - Shawn Corcoran, grandchildren; Christopher Carrigan, Connor Corcoran and Megan Corcoran, as well as many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.
