Melissa Renee Cox born October 27, 1981 passed from this life April 14, 2018 at the age of 36. Melissa resided in Lafayette, Louisiana, with the love of her life Matthew Delk, and they were anxiously awaiting the arrival of little August Journey (AJ) on May 9, 2018.
Melissa passed away unexpectedly due to a heart aneurysm and their sweet baby, August Journey, was taken by emergency C-section. August remains in critical but stable condition with dad, Matthew Delk, by her side. Melissa also leaves behind the pride of her life, her older daughter Kalayna Nicole, age 17 who resides in Bel Air, Maryland. Other family members include: Parents, Larry & Carolyn Cox; Brother, Jeremy Cox and wife Jackie; Brother, Joseph Cox; Grandmother, Lucille Scott and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
A memorial service will be held for Melissa Cox Thursday, April 19, 2018, at 2 pm at Hillcrest Funeral Home Chapel in Haughton, Louisiana, with Rev. David Scott and Rev. Jerry Dean officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be sent to Abundant Life Church Building Fund, PO Box 70177, Rosedale, MD 21237.
