Maynard was a faithful, loving husband for 62 years. He honorably served his country in the US Air Force for 20 years. Stationed at Randolph AFB, Panama and Barksdale AFB, Bossier City, LA where he later retired at the rank of Captain. He met and soon married the love of his life, Mary E. Howard on November 8, 1959 in Bossier City, Louisiana. Born to their union were two sons, Scott and Steve. Maynard loved the outdoors, traveling, carpentry, working puzzles and working in his yard. He had many interests and was very adept in many areas, one of which was discovering his family tree which he shared with family and anyone else who would listen. Maynard never met a stranger. His greatest joy however was getting together with his family as often as possible.
