Mary O Burgess

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mary Ruth Oldham Burgess, 91, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Mr. Charles Wade Shaw.

Mary was born February 23, 1933, and passed away November 27, 2024. She was one of the kindest women with an amazing family history. Mary was one of seven children and is survived by her baby sister, Wilma Oldham Parker. Also surviving Mary are her three daughters, Penny Woods and husband Billy, DeAnna Bass, and Mary Snyder; three grandsons, Sean Picard and wife Erica, Brad Byrd and wife Anne Marie, and Bret Snyder. Mary’s legacy continues with her four great-grandchildren, Bradyn, Paisley, Willa, and Emmalyn.

She is preceded in death by her parents; older brother, Andy Oldham; sister, Louise Oldham Smith; brother, M.J. Oldham; sister, Addie Mae Newland; and brother, Parnell Oldham. Mary’s husband, Jesse Burgess, passed away in 1994 and awaits her in paradise.

1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains—

where does my help come from?

the Maker of heaven and earth.

he who watches over you will not slumber;
