Laura Mae Lindsey

Laura lived in Greenwood for the last several years with her daughter Marie and son in law Roy, but before moving to Greenwood she lived in Bossier City for 46 years. After raising four boys and one girl, Laura also raised a lot of children over many years through her childcare business. She spent many years enjoying bowling, horseshoes, traveling with Alice, and enjoying life with all of her family and friends. She took great pleasure in hosting everyone for crawfish on Good Friday, playing cards on Thanksgiving, and her ornament party for Christmas. After about 37 years of teaching children right from wrong, ABC's, and 123's, she felt it was time to retire.

Laura was preceded in death by her father in 1961 and mother in 1988; her husband Carl James Lindsey, Sr. in 1986; brother Frances ”Red” Schuller; sisters Elma Green, Marjorie Reifstake, Elizabeth “Betty” Darnell, and Melrose Stodden.

Laura is survived by her daughter Marie Lindsey Stump and husband Roy; sons Carl James "Jim" Lindsey, Jr. and wife Cindy, Charles "Chuck" Edward Lindsey and wife Kelly, Michael "Mike" Scott Lindsey and wife Cheryl, and William "Bill" Frances Lindsey; grandchildren Jeramy Lindsey and wife Wendi, Trey Colgrove and wife Brooke, Karla Lindsey, Amber Wilhite and husband Grady, Taylor Lindsey and wife Taylor, Casey Morgan, Michael Stump and wife Rachel and James Stump and wife Heather; great-grandchildren Aubree Colgrove, Adelyn Colgrove, Landon Knapp, Carter Knapp, Gannon Wilhite, Gabe Lindsey, Delilah Feller, Kaylee Stump, Peyton Stump and Charley Stump; and her sister Carol Keiffer; and a host of nieces and nephews and close friends who are still here to cherish the memories.

Honoring Laura as pallbearers will be sons Jim Lindsey, Chuck Lindsey, Mike Lindsey, and Bill Lindsey, grandsons Jeramy Lindsey, Trey Colgrove, and Taylor Lindsey.
