in Heaven on March 11, 2025 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Kathy was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend, and nurse. She had a heart of gold and was always willing to help others any way she could. Kathy’s passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of all who knew her.
Kathy was born on February 25,1957 at Lockbourne Air Force Base, Ohio. She grew up in a military family and loved to travel the world and meet new people. Kathy was a Registered Nurse. She worked at LSU Medical Center and Riverside Hospital. Kathy was a home health nurse for many years, which she loved. She was a very dedicated and compassionate nurse as well as a strong patient advocate.
Kathy was married to John Dalby, the love of her life, for thirty five years. Her son Christian Dalby was the light of her life. Kathy loved being a wife and mother. She was very involved in Boy Scouts and soccer as Christian was growing up. One of the greatest joys of her life was watching Christian receive his Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from Louisiana Tech University. She was always very proud of Christian and often said God could not have given her a better child.
Kathy was very creative and an extremely talented flute player. She loved to listen to music, sing, write songs and go to concerts. She loved making jewelry, painting, cooking, reading, doing sudoku and crossword puzzles, gardening, fishing, making crafts, and watching birds. She adored her dog Coco. She also loved picnics, tea parties, art projects, building fairy houses, and playing with her niece Rae Rae. She took pleasure in decorating for holidays, especially Mardi Gras, Christmas, and Halloween. Her home was always filled with children playing, friends, and family. Kathy always made everyone feel welcome and special.
Left to cherish Kathy’s memory are her loving and devoted husband, John Dalby; her precious son, Christian Dalby; sisters, Karen Moore, Sandy Graves and husband Gary Graves; nephew, Nathan Graves and girlfriend Taylor Walker; special niece, Raelyn “Rae Rae” Graves, Tommie and husband Robert Warren, M.D., Patricia Miller, Sterling and wife Kay Dalby, Robert Dalby M.D. and wife Barbara, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Neil and Doris Moore and her niece, Valerie Graves.
The family would like to thank our friends and neighbors for their love and kindness. We would like to express our love and gratitude to our special friend Dennis Sullivan M.D.
A celebration of life service will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 U.S. 80 Haughton, Louisiana on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm and the service will begin at 2:30 pm.
