Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. with the rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Bossier City. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park.
Josephine was born August 28, 1921 in Shreveport, LA. A Bossier City native, she resided there until age 85 when she moved to Arlington, Texas to live with her daughter Beverly and husband Al Van Scotter.
She married Herman L. Miller, the love of her life on June 30, 1941. Josephine was a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the Altar Society and the Immaculate Conception Society where she was awarded Worker of the Year twice. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Foreign Wars #4588 and a former member of the North Bossier Chapter AARP #3974. In addition to being a eucharistic minister at Christ the King, Mrs. Miller received the coveted Diocesan Bishop’s Award in 1992. While in Texas, she was an active member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Josephine is survived by her four children, Bo Miller (Beth), Sandra Sadler (Tom), Beverly Van Scotter (Alan), Gary Miller; two granddaughters, Angela Terry (Devin) and Vanessa Von Wollenberg (Frisco); five grandsons, Craig, Jason (Amy) Jeremy (Sara), Brian, Beau Lewis; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Brocato; brother, Joe Maranto and many nieces and nephews. Josephine was predeceased by her husband Herman Miller and her grandson, Jacob Tidwell who died March 13, 1992.
